It’s hot at ASU. About 110 degrees hot to be precise. So our strategy for connecting with new students this Fall involves ice. We set up a welcome table on campus from mid morning to just after lunch. We keep a cooler at the table stocked with three bags of ice, 20 bottles of water, and about 50 Otter Pops. The students we meet at 10 am receive a tasty frozen treat. By noon, the treats are just as tasty but no longer frozen. ASU may be hot this Fall, but the Christian Challenge tent is certainly the “coolest” place on campus.
Welcome Back
On Friday Aug 13 Christian Challenge had the opportunity to feed 200 Freshmen as part of ASU’s Fall Welcome Leader Training. ASBC Disaster Relief provided the food and the mobile kitchen. Students from Challenge and volunteers from area churches provided the manpower. We are thankful for this opportunity to serve fellow students and be a blessing to the campus.
